Random musings and discussions around anything related to the 7th Sea 2nd Edition

There was a discussion about Sorcery being inexpensive compared with Dueling Schools. One of the arguments (The main one) is that Sorcery mastery requires spending multiple 2-pt Advantages on Sorcery. I wanted to see how many points it would require to master each Sorcery for comparison:

Hexenwerk (14 points - 7 Advantages)

- Each Advantage gives 1 Major / 2 Minor Unguents (There are 7 Major and 13 Minor)

Dar Matushka (8 Points - 4 Advantages)

- Each Advantage gives 2 Gifts (There are 8 Gifts)

Hi!

Any of you know where I can get information about the city of Five Sails? I want that place to be the background for my campaign, but I can´t find almost anything about that city...

How would you handle a group of players investigating a murder scene?  Would you make it a simple Risk, or a Dramatic scene?  What sort of consequences would you apply?  How would you balance clues and opportunities?

Alright everyone, I'm calling on the collective powers that be here to help make this happen. I've just signed on to run a one shot demo of 7th Sea for my teen library program. In all, I'm expecting between 6 and 12 players (take that Sal!) for an event that will run roughly 2:30 hours.  I have just under a month to plan this out, and I'm gonna need some help.

I would like to see a political map of 2e Theah that more clearly shows the borders between nations.  This, of course, also includes the principalities of Eisen.

So I have a question: is there a timeline for the 2nd Edition?  At one point in the Castille write up it indicates that the War of the Cross is 20 years old ("Castille has a great number of disenfranchised nobility since the War of the Cross ended twenty years ago"), but other comments (such as the line in the Eisen writeup that says "Everyone in Eisen—soldier or otherwise— is a veteran of the War of the Cross" : Really?  the population of Eisen is all over twenty-something?) seem to contradict that.

I was reading through the ship adventures section. How does someone get enough wealth to earn Gold Drives a Man to Dream? You need to sell 10 wealth of cargo in one voyage, but as far as I can figure out, the max you can get at once is 6. 2 cargo, 2 port, 2 for demand. What am I missing?
