Random musings and discussions around anything related to the 7th Sea 2nd Edition

I hav a question that doesn't let me sleep since I started playing 7th Sea: why "Los Vagos"? "Vago", in spanish, means "lazy". The spanish version of the game names the society as "Los Vagabundos" ("the wanderers", although I think the correct meaning is "the beggars"). I think it makes more sense.

I understand "die kreuzritter" ("the crusaders"), the "eisenfürsten" ("iron princes") and so. Why, then, that strange spanish word for a mixture of V-of-Vendetta, the Zorro and the guerrilla against the napoleonic invasion?

In Update 25 of the kickstarter for the second edition of 7th sea, a board game was mentioned as being in the works. This game, currrently under the title of "The War of the Cross" is being planned as a combination of Diplomacy and Dune (or the modern, IP free, Rex). This leads to some concern on my part.

At least one person over at the Kickstarter page mentioned that the characters included in the QS were not enough for his particular gaming group (since some people play with more than five players). Here's an unofficial character I put together who can hopefully be useful to larger gaming groups.

I want to just once again state that this character is completely unofficial. Hopefully he's usable and meshes well with the other characters.

Basically, are you someone who is coming into 7th sea for the first time, or did you pay the original version before the kickstarter was around.

Me, I am new to this setting, but am already finding it fascinating.

Hey all! I know the community seems to have mixed opinions on the new rules. What do you think? What are you going to change? Will you stick with the riles from the book? Or adapt a different system entirely? Let's hear it!

I'm planning an Erebus Cross style whistle stop tour of Théah to introduce my group to Théah. I'd like a range of views of what the key aspects of each country are to make sure I get the key themes across to them. Try summing up each country's key themes in 3 (ish) words. For example: Eisen - Dracheneisen, horrors, war-torn.

Imagine I have 2 resolve and find myself on three wounds. I take three more wounds. Which of the following situations is true:

A. I fill up the next three available boxes, including the starburst dramatic wound box, leaving me with one box of the second track filled.

B. As soon as the fourth and final box in the first track is filled, I also fill the dramatic wound box. The remaining two wounds are applied to the next track.

C. Taking the fourth wound triggers the dramatic wound, and all other wounds from that source are ignored.
