First of all, please excuse my english. This is not my birth language.

I'm starting my campaign if a few weeks and i have to admit i still have some difficulties to fully understand the system.

For example: imagine the heroes are in an old cave to have a secret meeting and suddenly 20 king guards arrived to arrest them. The idea is to frighten the heroes and force them to escape. But with the V2 i'm not sure they will escape because 4 ot 5 heroes are enought to fight easily 20 guards.

Mais on ne se bat pas dans l'espoir du succès ! Non, non c'est bien plus beau lorsque c'est inutile !

I'm going to be playing 7th Sea soon for the first time and this seemed like the best place to get some help. I don't have a solid concept in my head right now but I know that what I want to do, primarily, is help the rest of the group. I hope that the more experienced players and GMs here can give me some advice on building a character and playing such a character (by which I mean 'what sort of things I should do to help'). Any help that you can offer is appreciated.

I had my first session of 7th Sea recently, and I have to say the rules are taking a bit to get used to. The players were:

- A Castillian Duelist trying to gain influence and materials to take down the Inquisition

- An Avalonian Company Mediator who wants to topple the ATC and reestablish himself as the head to make it a better company

- An Avalonian Pirate looking to get even with Reis and Find Syreneth Artifacts

- A Castillian Preformer turned Pirate who's really just along for the ride.

I am not new to storytelling but I am new to 7th Sea.  7th Sea is a game I have always wanted to play but never had an oppotuntity until now.  A friend agreed to run 7th Sea for our weekly gaming group and everyone at the table absolutly fell in love with it so far.  After we played only 3 games, said friend told everyone he did not want to run the game and was leaving the group because of work issues.
