Looking for the rule:
Thought we could use a general reference thread for the new book. I know I saw something in writing about heroes each getting 4 wounds in each section of the DEATH SPIRAL but I can't find the page, anybody remember where that was?

It might be worth waiting until they publish the final version of the PDF. Page references may change depending on the extent of the changes.

I agree that a quick reference guide would be nice, but I think threeish might be better. One for the player creation options (expandable to include new backgrounds and advantages from future source books), one of GM specific things (like villainy rules and gaining drama points), and one on miscellaneous rules that could be broken into further resource booklets (ship rules, general rules on action scenes and dramatic sequences). Basically, remove most of the fluff and just leave the mechanics so that the as written rulings can be referenced for the groups that are a bit more stickers for the rules. Leave the fluff for the backgrounds since that is somewhat a part of the mechanic of those. Although my idea either needs a new thread to be worked on, or this thread renamed.

What thread name do you suggest, @Bradley? I can move this to that thread if you reply with a name that could steer conversation into your preferred direction. Thanks.

Fan resource creation? Simple and to the point. Probably will need to use Google docs in some manner.

There is this other thread below (should "Fan Resource Creation" be a subheading, or do you want a full thread). We can move the Character Sheets (by McCormick and Krupp into it too then).

Okay, we now have a "Fan Created Resources" segment after the "Core Rules" segment. Let 'er rip, @Bradley.

Each Hero gets the same death spiral, 4 wounds then a Dramatic, 4 Dramatics total

Thank you myridian. I knew it was in there but just browsed past it.

Glad to be of assistance, I looked over it several times while actively looking for it..

I read it several times and glossed over what the words meant.  I am blaming the fact that it's PDF and the pixels hate me.

In the section on gaining Hero Points, there is a note that 'for every die that doesn't make a raise that the GM buys from you, you get a Hero Point and the GM gets a Danger Point' but I haven't been able to locate the specifics on buying unused dice from players.  Can someone point me in the right direction here?

Page 177 - The GM buys any unused dice that aren’t part of a Raise. For each die the GM chooses to buy in this fashion, you gain 1 Hero Point...and he gains 1 Danger Point.

And also page 172 just before step 5: If you end up with unused dice, the GM can choose to buy them from you. For each die the GM chooses to purchase in this fashion, you gain 1 Hero Point... and he gains 1 Danger Point.

Is this what you were looking for?

That section on 172 is pretty much what I was in search of, so thanks for that.  I was just curious if it was better explained regarding when the dice offer is made and if 'buying the dice' amounted to more than bargaining for extra Hero/Danger points.  The notation comes in before the Roll entry in the explanation but 'unused dice that aren't part of a raise' indicates the offer is made after the roll has been done.  I don't suppose it really matters, though.  Offering to buy away a player's dice before they roll feels like more a devil's bargain but since they're giving the GM Danger Points in exchange for the Hero Points they take I guess the devil is already in there.

The way I see it, it should be done after they roll and if there are dice they cannot use to make a raise. But I also understand that it's up to the GM if they want to buy or not those dice and then the player may or not accept. I guess that's the concept of bargain you want. If the player thinks the GM has too many danger points perhaps they won't be willing to sell.

Before the roll... yeah, really devilish :P Not that I dislike the idea, mind you, but I don't know if that would be fair... It would be funny though.
