QA: Sanderis Shadow Deal - Short Distance
develoers, core rules, sorcery, sanderis

QUESTION

One of the Shadow minor favours is the ability to teleport between shadows. The book says 'short distance' but that's never actually defined. What distances do other people use?

I would probably limit it to within line of unaided sight -- so you can't cheese it by pulling out a telescope or anything, but in general you can sort of shadow-jump around to different parts of a scene.

I would probably let you shadow step to the other side of a doorway as well.

Sanderis in particular is a bit of an odd duck, because it's designed specifically to be sort of undefined. Your dievas CAN do just about anything, so it becomes a question of what they'll let you do and what it'll cost you.

The book actually states "Open a shadowy portal to instantly travel a short distance to another shadow in sight."
