Wounds and dramatic wounds

Imagine I have 2 resolve and find myself on three wounds. I take three more wounds. Which of the following situations is true:

A. I fill up the next three available boxes, including the starburst dramatic wound box, leaving me with one box of the second track filled.

B. As soon as the fourth and final box in the first track is filled, I also fill the dramatic wound box. The remaining two wounds are applied to the next track.

C. Taking the fourth wound triggers the dramatic wound, and all other wounds from that source are ignored.

D. Filling the dramatic wound with the second wound applied stops any more damage from being applied from that source.

Wounds are getting reworks a lot. We're real close to something we're happy with. But the answer to your questions is the same. I'll illistrate it

○/● = Wounds
◎/◉ = Dramatic Wounds

"Death Spiral": ○○○○◎○○○○◎

You take five wounds, you would mark your sprial like so:

"Death Spiral": ●●●●◉○○○○◎

Hi Rob,

Thanks for taking the time to address this, however I don't think you've quite answered my question. It breaks down to two questions which I will use your example for:

1) If I take 4 wounds, does the dramatic wound fill, or does that require the 5 you mentioned?

2) If you take 6 (or more) wounds (in your example) does taking the dramatic wound make you ignore the rest of the wounds that you have been dealt or does it 'bleed' in to the second dramatic wound track?

Sorry that I wasn't totally clear. Let me elaborate and, hopefully, answer your direct questions. Using this example:

○/● = Wounds
◎/◉ = Dramatic Wounds

"Death Spiral": ○○○○◎○○○○◎

I believe that answers the question. Might want to think about using a similar example in the book. Examples are great at explaining things.

Very clear now - thank you. Here's a second vote for examples in the book.

Yup this one explains it perfectly.

Though I like the use of the term Death Spiral.

I think what Rob illustrated shows that you will take the Dramatic wound in your situation on the 5th wound so at 4 wounds you are one short.

I also suspect that if your next injury situation deals 2 wounds, you will take that dramatic AND tack one more into the next phase of the Death Spiral.

(and I also love that name)
